Rehearsal? Check. Next? Packing!

The band got one rehearsal in last night, which went pretty well. We're bringing a collection of songs that we want to share with the Brazilians, but we also rehearsed a few songs we know they are singing.

Most of the songs they know are older American/British worship songs like "Open the Eyes of My Heart" and "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever." It was great to play songs we haven't sung or heard in years, but were standards when many of us were younger and just discovering worship music.

Tonight is the "Packing Party" where we'll pack up all the audio/visual equipment into suitcases to bring with us on the plane. We're thankful that although our original shipping option fell through, God has provided a solid alternative in bringing everything on our flight and paying any necessary overage fees (minimal compared to shipping fees and taxes if we used a shipping company like FedEx).

At this point, please pray that we would:
  • pack quickly and efficiently
  • have enough suitcases to fit everything
Tonight is also a great opportunity for the team to work together for the first time. So far, we've only met to share testimonies and devotionals. Although those have been great, the meetings have not allowed for any other interaction. This mini-project of packing should be a good exercise in learning more about each other and how to work well together!
