Happy Birthday Boys!

After a very productive work day, we got to take some of the boys out to celebrate their birthdays. Some of these boys have never celebrated a birthday before. It was incredible for us to think that they'd never received a present before. Never been treated out before. Never had a party before. Never had done simple things like eat McDonald's or hang out at the mall.

But we didn't focus on any of that. Rather, we all played together like we were great friends. The boys were extremely patient with our broken portuguese and just let us love them in the best ways we knew how. We spent time taking funny pictures, laughing, and slurping down milkshakes. The boys here are like boys anywhere else: they love action figures and sports and technology and goofing off.

We were sad to part with them tonight, but glad to have been here for their birthdays. We hope our gifts and time together made them happy, but we absolutely know without a doubt that their time with us has made us extremely overjoyed. They have been a far greater blessing to us than they realize.
