Estamos No Brasil! (We are in Brazil!)

We've arrived!

We're currently at the hotel, just had lunch on the rooftop patio under the warm sun and cool breeze. After a long, but relatively easy flight, everyone is resting before we head to Cidade do Meninos (City of Youth) to have a worship service with the kids.

We'll be leading 2 songs first, so pray that we lead well, worship sincerely, and display great energy and joy as we worship. The worship leaders and musicians are going to be a little out of our comfort zones without having our expert sound engineer and fancy equipment, but we hope that doesn't distract us from what's important. We want to worship with these kids and just have a great time. We want to demonstrate that God's love is amazing, relentless, and absolutely worthy of praise.

Other things you can keep in prayer:

  • Delta wouldn't allow us to bring 3 large boxes, which contained the speakers and subwoofer. Please pray we'll find an alternative way to ship them or buy them locally. Regardless, it will cost a lot of money, but we're looking for the fastest and most economical solution.
  • Tonight is the first time we meet the kids, so pray that we begin good relationships with them. Despite a language barrier, pray that we'll be generous with our love and affections, not favoring anyone, but demonstrating Christ's perfect love through the way we interact with all of them.
  • Thank God the rest of the flight was great! Customs was an absolute breeze, security was not an issue, and all the other equipment came on the flight with us without any problems. We are very thankful because we know it could have been a lot harder.
More updates later tonight or tomorrow!

Muito obrigada por suas orações. (Thank you very much for your prayers.)
