Slumber Party With the Girls

At Chacara Esperanza, (The Girl’s Ranch) excitement and joy was written across the girls’ faces as they prepared for some of our team members to sleepover. Joy and Ashleigh danced the night away singing songs with the girls in house two. It was amazing to see the sense of hope that God has restored in their lives and it is hard to believe that these beautiful girls once suffered through such difficult experiences. In house three, Nicole and Emily bonded with the girls even through language barriers by playing games, getting their hair done, and singing Michael Jackson songs. Natalie spent time in house number one where she made sure she connected with each girl one on one. Barb experienced a God moment when one of the girls shared her reason for changing her life. The young lady explained that she had lived in a different group home (shelter) before coming to Chacara Esperanza and when asked which she liked better and why, she responded, “I like it better here at Hope Unlimited because they have given me something that I didn’t get at the other place. At my first group home I had love, food, and friends, but here I have something that I can have for the rest of my life, no matter what I face. Here I have God.” As those team members rode the bus with the girls the next morning, with their memories forever stored in their hearts, they must have been thinking about how their work here is nothing short of a miracle.

  1. Hey Team,
I am just checking in for Scott. Nothing was mentioned about the return trip when he took you to JFK, but we wanted to be sure you knew, Scott is out of town on Sunday and cannot pick you all up. Could you confirm via this blog that you got this message? Thanks,
    Jan
